You're not alone. And you're not failing.

Dr. Haleh Kouchmeshki (“Dr. K”) is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, educational therapist, and private practice clinician who also serves as the counselor and learning specialist at Vistamar School, an independent day school in El Segundo, CA. In her dual roles, she works closely with kids, teens and young adults, supporting them academically, socially, and emotionally, while guiding families through the unique challenges of raising children in highly demanding environments. Having extensive experience with independent day schools in Los Angeles, Dr. K is well-acquainted with the pressures students and families face in balancing academic expectations, social dynamics, and personal growth in the competitive LA educational landscape.
After years of training toward a career in neuropsychology, Dr. K realized her true passion lies in treatment rather than assessment. She pursued extensive specialized training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, and thinkSMART, an executive function skills program through UCLA. More recently, she has completed intensive grief training through Our House and is a Certified UCLA PEERS Practitioner, equipping her to support teens navigating social-emotional challenges, relationship development, and the stressors of modern adolescence.
A certified yoga practitioner, Dr. K integrates mindfulness practices into her work, helping students cultivate resilience, presence, and balance in today’s fast-paced, social-media-driven world. She is also fluent in Farsi, which allows her to connect with and support a broader range of families.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their pitbull/Frenchie rescue, Margot, running, practicing yoga, and exploring the rich and diverse culinary scene of Los Angeles.
